Demon Slayer’s popularity had only been soaring ever since its release, and with every new season, its fans are only growing in numbers. Though Demon Slayer is super-popular, is it appropriate for kids? We’ll be talking in detail about if Demon Slayer has any bad words or is it even appropriate for kids in this article.

What is Demon Slayer?

To give you a bit of context about the anime, it’s about a boy named Tanjiro Kamado who used to live in the mountains with his family. As his father died, he shouldered all the responsibility for his family. One day when he’s away, a blood-thirsty demon named Muzan slaughtered his family.

Everyone but his little sister died on the spot. His little sister, Nezuko, ended up becoming a demon herself. Tanjiro discovers that there’s a cure to his sister being a demon, and he goes on a journey to turn Nezuko back into a human being. He also joins the Demon Slayer Corps, which includes a bunch of Demon Slayers who have devoted their lives to ending the Demon Tyranny.

Is Demon Slayer appropriate for children?

Now, you can already guess that there is going to be a lot of gore and violence in this anime. You’ll see decapitating bodies and other kinds of violence that might not be appropriate for the younger audience. The series is R-Rated, which means that the audience under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult, while they are watching it.

In Japan, many adults have no problem watching the gore scenes that the series has to offer. They also have no issues with their children watching it.

However, in the US, adults have shown their concern for violent scenes in the series that their children might be watching.

The cultural difference between Japan and the US is the main reason why both the countries have different opinions about this anime. There aren’t any bad words used in this anime. Even if they are used, they’re not too much.

Also, there isn’t any explicit nudity in the series. There is a little fanservice in the Entertainment District Arc, but it’s not going to have a bad effect on children.

Overall, the series can be watched by children but accompanied by adults. The series has a lot of positive lessons that can be taught to the children and that’s how they’re going to take the series in a positive light. There is no harm in letting your children watch the Demon Series anime series. When it comes to profanity, it is there but is very mild and not very noticeable.
